Steve Kerr: 'I lied'

Asked twice whether Andrew Bogut would start last night, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr lied in order to secure a competitive advantage:

It seems to me that right and wrong aren't to be treated in a relativist manner. Steve Kerr lied. There's no way around it. We've been taught since we were toddlers that lying is wrong.

Shame on him.

I assume you are trying to compare this to the student loan thread.

 

I just think it's shameful that Steve Kerr would lie to advance his own self-interest. Wrong is wrong.

Don't know if Dick was dicking around but I did find this nugget from 2007:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Division II Grand Valley State
stunned No. 8 Michigan State, the Big Ten favorite, 85-82 in two
overtimes Friday night in an exhibition game.

Jason Jamerson had 19 points for the Lakers, while Justin
Ringler had 16, including a three-point play at the end of
regulation. Callistus Eziukwu of Grand Valley State had eight of
his 15 points in the second overtime.

The Spartans shouldn't have been shocked at the loss since they
trailed the Lakers for more than 38 minutes before escaping with a
win last season. This time, Grand Valley controlled the game for
most of its 50 minutes.

 

Wrong is wrong.

 

Was hoping Grand Valley would've played Arizona when Kerr was there. But alas ...

Why is it OK for Steve Kerr to lie?

One day, Steve will master the coach's art of deflecting the question. He's not there yet.

 

Eddie Izzard once had a great bit about perjury (lying). He said because there should be degrees of perjury like there are degrees of murder. First-degree perjury would be like saying the holocaust didn't happen and ninth-degree perjury would be saying you "shagged" someone when you didn't.
