L.A. raises minimum wage to $15/hr

    The only time I make at least $15 per hour is when I'm on overtime at my full-time job.

    It's good to know that Starbucks and McDonald's employees will now make as much, or more than enlisted members of the military.

    Probably costs more to live in L.A. than Fort Bragg.

    So, should minimum wage be $17.50 in San Francisco and $20 in New York?

    If the people there want it that way, then yes.

    This was a 14-1 vote by the City Council with a heavy majority in advance polling.

    That would be less than what the actual living wage would be.

    Maybe the problem is not raising the minimum wage, maybe it is paying those enlisted members such a poor wage.

    Yes. Support the troops by paying dishwashers less!

    Maybe junior enlisted personnel make less than $15 an hour in base pay, but probably total close to that if you add in allowances. Once they get to NCO level, most enlisted clear $15/hour easily with base pay alone.
