The second, I believe, soccer-style kicker behind Pete Gogolak.

I think he may also have been the last player to play without a facemask (his rookie year with the Lions).

Yepremian to Bass. Shame Washington couldn't muster any offense that day.

Either him, or Charlie Gogolak. Both began kicking in 1966, but Charlie played the full year, while Yepremian played 9 out of 14. Either way, a pioneer.

Also, major fumble aside (it was actually ruled that instead of a pass), he had an excellent career. RIP.

Garo's infamous pass shouldn't be held against him because it occurred off the clock from his kicking job.

Now, if the ball had been deflated ...

... he throws a 37-yard laser downfield for a game-breaking score. That's how football deflation works.

If they wanted him to complete the pass, they should've paid him a quarterback's salary for that play.

Garo made that very joke on Twitter a few months back, per Greg Cote (I could not find the original):

As recently as January, alluding to the New England Patriots’ “Deflategate” controversy, Yepremian posted on Twitter, “Forty-two years later I realize I should have deflated the ball to get a better grip on it.

I was interviewing a woman named Yepremian and made a joke about Garo and it turns out she's his sister-in-law. Married to Garo's brother, Krikor, who was an executive with the NY Cosmos.

She wasn't in the family at the time of the infamous pass.

    RIP, Garo
