    Probably unrelated:

A contest for cartoons depictions of the Prophet Muhammad in a Dallas suburb is on lockdown after authorities reported a shooting outside the building.

An officer dressed in SWAT gear took the stage toward the end of the event at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland and told attendees, including an Associated Press reporter, that a shooting had occurred. He said one officer and two suspects were shot.

It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting was related to the event.

Precisely the objective of the organizers.

Muslims aren't the only ones pining for the Crusades, obviously.

There is free speech and then there are "fighting words," and this clearly falls under the latter. This event was intended expressly to provoke a reaction, and it just happened that it got one. Shocking.

The only reason this wasn't a bloodbath was because the organizers (to their credit) spent $10,000 to stake out a SWAT team. The Garland PD reacted quickly and saved a lot of lives.

Also, these two chumps were clearly not pros. They were likely just a couple of wannabe jihadis from Richardson who thought it would be a great adventure.

I can't even begin to imagine how pathetic one's life must be to reach the conclusion that it's a good idea to go to Garland, Texas and draw pictures of Mohammed for the express purpose of agitating Mooslims.
