For a day or two, anyway.

Finally, we get an interesting college basketball coaching search.

I actually think the smart move here would be to elevate Grant or Pelphrey.

    Donovan hasn't left yet.

And, as alluded to above, even if he does, he might be back.

People I read on Twitter seem to think Grant would go to OKC with him.

Puts Florida in a tough position coming so long after the end of the college season. Do they go the interim route and see who's available next year?

I suspect his entire staff will go with him unless they promote from within.

I doubt it. Florida is not supposed to be very good next season and I doubt anyone wants to be a sitting duck. I can't think of any obvious candidates for this one. I'm sure Little Pitino will be mentioned, but I doubt that happens.

It wouldn't surprise me if they looked to the NBA for a possible coach.

    Scott Brooks is available.

Florida won't elevate a current assistant, even a former head coach like Grant or Pelphrey. That's not Foley's M.O. He always goes big.

Figure his first call will be Archie Miller, and probably Gregg Marshall after that.

All true. But, he was prepared to hire Grant when Donovan went to the Magic for a couple days in 2007. Granted, that was when Grant was the hotshot next big thing and not the recently disposed by Alabama coach that he is now. Same thing with Pelphrey. If Donovan had left last year, I think they would have gotten Shaka Smart, but that's not happening now, although I wouldn't put it past Foley to try.
