(Alleged) Armenian Genocide

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Apr 12, 2015.

  1. Learn something new everyday ...
Last night driving back from Columbus, I hear a radio commercial from a local business seeking to recognize the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. I'd never heard of it. Apparently it's a bit controversial - as far as the US, Italy and of course Turkey is concerned.
Today, Pope Francis spoke out and caused a bit of an international scene with Turkey.

Anyway, If you've never head of the Armenian genocide ...

Sounds like genocide to me ...

This has been a recurring plot theme on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Orville is obviously not a System of a Down fan. Of course, I don't know who is; that band sucks.

If there's anything that might swing world opinion in favor of genocide, that might do it.

Sad how many people don't know about this. And it is not alleged. It happened.

Basically the only people who deny it are the Turks.

  11. Yeah I don't there's any doubt it happened. They are arguing semantics.
"Yeah, more than a million Armenians died, but .. it wasn't technically 'genocide,'" is the Turks argument.
The US and Italy would rather ignore the issue due to its alliance with Turkey in the Middle East.

About it not being an allegation, or that System of a Down sucks?

    (You're not wrong about either.)
