    Rocking the Manhattan here.
2 parts bourbon, 1 part vermouth. Dash of bitters. Cherry. Joy.
EDIT: SWEET vermouth. None of this dry shit.

YF -- had Mezcal for the first time a couple of weeks ago and tried a couple of cocktails with that and bourbon. I love reading those recipes.

Yeah, I've only gotten into it recently.

I thought it would be more similar to tequila. But, in cocktails, it works more in place of of whiskey, and adds a smokey complexity.

I've made the one with yellow chartreuse and vermouth a couple of times, as well as the one with Aperol and vermouth. Both were really good.

Interesting that this thread just got bumped. I bought my first bottle of rye today - we're getting snow dumped on us in Circusville and whiskey just sounded nice. Went with Bulleit at the recommendation of the ABC clerk, and it's going down oh so smooth.

Anyone tried both Bulleit and Jim Beam rye? The Beam was roughly half as expensive. If it stacks up with the Bulleit at all, I'm going with that in the future.

Hidden in the third row on the right is a bottle of Mount Gay Eclipse, telling me you have excellent taste. Got any good recipes using that?

Not sure what you're seeing, but I don't think it's Mount Gay Eclipse.

The red cap farthest to the right. Although they've changed the bottles now, I've known that bottle and label for 2o-plus years. It might be Mount Gay White, but it's a Mount Gay rum bottle.

Boy Tony, when you're right, you're right.

That's what it is. You identified it off of very little evidence. I didn't think the picture even extended wide enough to get to the rum.

I don't know where that bottle came from, or how long I've had it. It was likely a gift from a long time ago. I'm not sure I've ever made a drink with it.

I have a bottle of Ron Zacapa 23 that I've used for several cocktails, and I've replenished it a couple of times.

I'll give some thought to doing something with the Mount Gay bottle.
