NBC's Brian Williams recants story about being in a helicopter brought down in Iraq

    Has to be fired.

    This isn't some mistake, or misremembered incident. It's a lie, and it's the equivalent of stolen valor.

    I find his explanation hard to believe. And apparently this story has been told multiple times over more than 10 years?

    I'm not sure what to think, but considering he reportedly arrived an hour after the attack, it's not like he even had a close call. He could have just misspoke, but it doesn't sound like it.

    I'd say this is a fireable offense. The anchor of the NBC Nightly News needs to be above reproach. That said, it won't happen. He apologized quickly, NBC has no one ready to step into his place and the Peacock won't risk losing more ground to David Muir.
