    So who are they gonna cast in the movie?

    You need a tough actress with a semi-mannish look to play the 30s/40ish Scout, a kind of everyman-nebbish slightly older man to play Jem, a fussbudgety guy to play Dill, and a distinguished/legendary actor in his 70s/80s for Atticus. (Clint? Redford??)

    One pick is a slam-dunk; Robert Duvall reprises Boo Radley.

    Joaquin Phoenix as Dill

    Gene Hackman would be great as Atticus, but he's apparently retired.

    He is the lone actor still alive who played an adult character in the movie.

    The Internets seem to be abuzz today. I just hope the book lives up to the hype. We read TKAM earlier this year in my sophomore English classes, so I will be interested to share this with them.
