    I'm pretty sure this has been asked before (but I couldn't find it on a search, so...), but did anyone over the age of, say, 12, REALLY fall for the Sidd Finch story? I remember reading it and laughing because it was a good, well-executed gag, but it was very obviously a gag. I can't imagine anyone actually believing it.

    Golly. Enough Missouri representation on here that this will hit home -- Maneater editor apologizes for issue that renamed the paper Carpet Eater and included lots of other words including the magic one regarding women.

    When I was there the paper had just canceled the april fools issue because of racism. Glad to see traditions continue.

    The key to a good April Fool's story is to let savvy readers in on the joke somewhere.
